Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Prism (“the Service”), including the Discord bot, website, dashboard, and any related features. By using Prism, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Prism is an AI-powered Discord bot that enables persona creation, message generation, and enhanced server functionality. Prism integrates with Discord and relies on third-party services such as Stripe and externally managed databases.

Your use of the Service is also governed by:

Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
Stripe’s Terms (for billing and payment processing)

2. Eligibility

You must:

Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by Discord in your region)
Have a valid Discord account
Be legally capable of forming a binding agreement

If you are using Prism on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

3. Accounts and Authentication

To use the dashboard and manage subscriptions, you must log in with Discord OAuth. By authenticating, you grant Prism permission to access your Discord user ID, profile information, guild list, and OAuth tokens necessary to operate the Service.

You are responsible for:

Keeping access to your Discord account secure
Ensuring only authorized persons manage your linked servers
Reviewing and controlling bot permissions in your servers

4. Paid Plans and Billing

Paid plans are handled through Stripe. By purchasing a subscription:

You authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
Your subscription renews automatically until canceled
Cancellation stops future charges but does not retroactively refund previous periods unless required by law
Certain paid features require linking a subscription to a specific Discord server (“guild sponsorship”)

Prism stores only Stripe customer IDs, subscription IDs, and plan metadata. All payment details stay with Stripe.

You are responsible for maintaining accurate billing information.

Usage Limits

Conversation usage has daily and weekly limits. Daily limits reset at 00:00 UTC; weekly limits reset Monday at 00:00 UTC. Both must have enough remaining capacity for a reply. Unused usage does not carry over. Paid usage is shared across all servers sponsored by the subscriber; Free usage is shared within each server. The dashboard and /usage show both limits and their next resets.

Usage reflects the AI processing required, including conversation context, generated replies and images. Longer requests use more allowance, and cached context can use less. Each character response consumes usage separately. Background intent checks and automatic compaction do not consume the displayed conversation allowance. In-progress replies temporarily reserve capacity; failed or undelivered replies are not charged to that allowance.

A reply can require more allowance than you have left, even when some usage remains.

We may increase or decrease daily and weekly usage limits and adjust how processing is measured as API pricing, operating costs and service usage change. Changes normally take effect at the next weekly reset. A plan upgrade can increase both limits while preserving usage already consumed. We will communicate material changes. No fixed message count or permanent allocation is guaranteed unless expressly stated. Applicable consumer rights remain unaffected.

Reaching either limit pauses new character replies until enough capacity is available after a reset. It does not trigger an additional charge or automatically switch the reply model. Commands and access to personas, memories and shared context remain available. Separate rate and operating limits may apply to protect service availability.

5. Use of the Service

You agree not to use Prism to:

Violate Discord’s Terms or Community Guidelines
Generate unlawful, harmful, discriminatory, or malicious content
Attempt to bypass rate limits, usage limits, or subscription restrictions
Manipulate personas for harassment or coordinated abuse
Interfere with the Service or attempt unauthorized access

Prism reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for abuse, security concerns, or breach of these Terms.

6. Server Sponsorships

Prism allows you to apply your paid subscription to a Discord server (“guild”). When you sponsor a server:

That server receives paid-tier features
Only one subscription may be applied per server
Usage for that server may be attributed to the subscription holder for limit enforcement
Removing the bot or revoking permissions may disable features

Usage is attributed to the sponsor responsible when a request starts. Unlinking a server, resetting a scene or deleting a persona does not clear usage already consumed.

7. AI-Generated Content

Prism produces AI-generated messages, persona outputs, and other content. You acknowledge:

AI outputs may be inaccurate, unpredictable, or inappropriate
You are responsible for reviewing and moderating outputs in your server
Discord moderation and safety obligations remain with server administrators

Prism is not liable for actions taken based on AI-generated content.

8. Data and Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1. Your Content

You retain ownership of:

Your persona configurations
Custom prompts
Content generated in your Discord server

By using the Service, you grant Prism a non-exclusive license to process this content solely to operate and improve the Service.

9.2. Our Property

Prism, its software, branding, and underlying systems are owned by us. You may not:

Reverse engineer
Copy
Resell
Redistribute
Create derivative works of

any part of the Service without our written permission.

10. Service Availability

Prism is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee:

Uninterrupted uptime
Loss-free performance
Compatibility with all Discord configurations
Preservation of data in the event of outages

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Prism is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
Prism is not responsible for harm caused by AI outputs, user misuse, or Discord platform behavior
Total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months (or $0 for free users)

Some jurisdictions do not allow liability limits; those rights remain unaffected.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Prism harmless from claims arising from:

Your use of the Service
Violation of these Terms
Violation of Discord policies
Content generated, posted, or shared through your account or server

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if:

You violate these Terms
Your subscription lapses
The Service must comply with legal, security, or platform requirements

You may stop using Prism at any time by removing the bot or deleting your account via the dashboard.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last Updated” date indicates the latest version. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance.
